About Morrison

Morrison is located just southwest of the Denver city limits and remains small and secluded despite its closeness to the metropolitan area.

The town came into existence after the creation of the Denver and South Park Railway in 1872. The original plan was to extend the line much farther, but it never got past Morrison. It served the community until the floods of 1933.

Red sandstone formations stand guarding the town of Morrison. Bear Creek, which flows through the middle of the town and provides water for Morrison, Denver, Englewood, and other communities upstream.

Facilities in Morrison

Morrison is right next to the worl famous Red Rocks ampitheatre. Annually, Red Rocks Ampitheater is host to an Easter sunrise service and the Red Rocks Ampitheater is host to many performances throughout the spring, summer and fall.

Clear blue skies and beautiful sunrises and sunsets have adorned the sandstone formations for many years. The nearby Dinosaur Ridge highligjts some of the impressive geology of the area - some examples of which can be found in Morrisons natural history museum.

Exceptional shopping and restaurants are located nearby at Park Meadows mall, situated at the corner of I-25, C-470 and County Line road.

Morrison is in Jefferson County amd local scholls are in Lakewood.
