About Louisville

Louisville is a part of the Denver-Boulder metropolitan area and is just a few miles from the city of Boulder in the middle of beautiful natural surroundings.

Louisville is home to some 20,000 residents and is primarily a close-knit bedroom community.

Residents from Louisville benefit from the close proximity to Boulder and all its "big city" amenities while being able to take advantage of the much lower housing costs, views, open space and small town feel of their local communities.

Louisville was named after Louis Nawatny, a local landowner and mine owner. Acme Mine operated directly beneath Louisville.

These mines were among more than 30 that operated in the area mines found in and around the area around the turn of the century. Louisville was incorporated in 1882.
