It is this diversity which enables Conifer to be the vibrant, growing, dignified community it is today. Currently the fastest growing corridor in the foothills, the areas surrounding Highway 285 is about a 30- 45 minute drive from Downtown Denver allowing you to live in the Mountains, with easy access to all the cultural offerings of the city. Along with the communities of Morrison, Pine, Kittredge and Indian Hills, the Conifer area is mountain living in the foothills just to the west of Denver. Conifer is probably the best known of all these mountain communities. Facilities in ConiferConifer is only 45 minutes from the historic, mining towns of Central City and Blackhawk. Though gold and silver played out long ago in these two mining towns, a new "mother lode" appeared as limited gambling was introduced and attracts large numbers of tourists year round. An additional 45 minutes and you can be on the slopes of one of Summit County's ski areas, Breckenridge, Copper or Keystone. Conifer SchoolsSchools in Conifer are part of the Jefferson County School District. The Jefferson County School District is the largest district in the state of Colorado with over 87,000 students. SAT scores are substantially higher than national averages, and with a student-teacher ratio of only 21, students receive individual attention. West Jefferson Elementary School Jefferson County school district and Park County school district provide excellent educational facilities for elementary through high school age students.
